Ginger Cookery offered a taste of Vietnamese hospitality while learning to create traditional foods with layers of hidden flavors. My time spent in the three hour program was so much more than a cooking class and offered a window into the culture and cuisine that is not seen by the casual visitor.
The setting is in a lovely garden and the teachers speak beautiful English while helping the students create delicious and authentic dishes. Ginger Cookery is among the best hands-on experience I enjoyed while on my fourth visit to the country…

Best hands on cooking class and wonderful market tour
This is truly a gem while visiting Ha Long beside the cruise around the Bay. It was SO MUCH FUN. We learned more than just cooking skills during the market tour and the cooking class. The tour was very insightful and gave us a greater knowledge about Vietnamese culture. The cooking class itself was fully hands-on and the food was so tasty and finally turned out to be one of our best meals in Vietnam.
The whole experience is so well organized and the instructor was so thoughtful. NONE of us were left behind or struggled with any of the cooking steps. Ginger Cookery was a remarkable and memorable experience that I enthusiastically recommend..
Wonderful experience – super tasty food
I had such an enriching cultural experience at Ginger Cookery. We met chef Thuy at the coastal market. We’ve got to know about the local harvest, the locally grown fruits. I have never experienced nor seen such an interesting market.. lt was incredible. We made a variety of fresh seafood dishes, salads and noodles dishes from given recipes and great support from chef Thuy at her a bright, well-decorated, spacious and super clean kitchen.
Man oh man what an experience. Thank you Ginger cookery for turning what could have been any old regular cooking class into a memorable, AUTHENTIC time in Ha Long with you.
